I had to include this photo, not taken in NM, but of a species regularly found in New Mexico.


Dippers are a unique family with no close relatives in North America.
They are found only along fast-flowing, rocky streams where they find insect larva underwater.

This first summer bird has found a tasty snack.







This male bird was in the shade, so we cannot see the gorget colors, but I love the detail.


The White-crowned Sparrows & Finches loved to eat the Quince blossoms. Here is an offering.
